Advent Week 2

 

With Eager Anticipation 

Personal Peace

 

3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.  Romans 5:1-5ESV

   

13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.    Romans 15:13

Start with Honesty before God:

 

True peace says, “Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord! O Lord, hear my voice” Psalm 130:1-2

 

And it also says, “I have calmed and quieted my soul” Psalm 131:2

 

You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus,  3 Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. 2 Timothy 2:1, 3-4

A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense. Proverbs 19:11

4We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. (and Gods Peace)  We capture their rebellious though and teach them to obey Christ.   2Corinthians 10:4,5

 

 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[e] 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.[f] 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6

 

9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9,10
