“ The greatest among you must be a servant.” Matthew 23:11

Jesus Style Servants:

Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4  so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5  After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. 6  He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” 7  Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” 8  “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.” John 13:2-8 2)

Serve out of _________________________________________________

“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” Galatians 5:13

“ But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Matthew 23:12

“Serve the Lord with gladness” Psalm 100:2

“And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2  We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Hebrews 12:1-2

5) _________________________________________________serving

“ The evening meal was in progress, & the devil had already
prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.”

John 13:2

“But here at this table, sitting among us as a friend, is the man who will betray me. 22  For it has been determined that the Son of Man must die. But what sorrow awaits the one who betrays him.” 23  The disciples began to ask each other which of them would
ever do such a thing. 24  Then they began to argue among themselves about who would be the greatest among them.” Luke 22:21-24

Closing: Who are you ___________________________________ your life for ?

“ For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45
